STCC Round 6 Snetterton.
STCC Round 6: Snetterton.
Well,
what another really fantastic day, the weather was perfect all day if
not a touch too hot in the sunshine as there was no breeze all day! The
racing was fast, as it always is at Snetterton in these conditions, the
grip was good all day. With close racing and the wide track there was
plenty over position changing all day.... In TC1 Chris Barrett was on a
mission again, coming all the way from the I.O.W, Chris seems to found
his old form once again, his car looking good all day the results show
he was dialed. Mark Fuller had to settle for a hard fought 2nd overall
after suffering a DNF in the first round, he took the 2nd round
convincingly, but could only claw himself back to 3 in the last final
after an early shunt took him out from 2nd to last. Mark leads the
championship and looks like taking it overall but it has been much,
much closer and harder fought this year! Bryan Loynes making it
into 3rd overall after a 9th and two 2nd's, he will be an up and coming
contender having taken well to this class and visibly enjoying it.
Bryan says he doesn't smile - well the photo say you do Bryan, well
done! In TC2, Stuart Rand was clearly in the groove again after his
Bashley win, taking the first 2 finals and stepping out from the 3rd to
watch! David Saul has now got his new car set up and made it another
2nd and still leads the championship - it's not over just yet David,
don't give up! Matt Rowe claimed 3rd after having to leave the meeting
early early and missed the 3rd final! In TC3, Jason Moggridge took top
spot with the first 2 finals, with Dave Ringsell showing that some
"oldies" still have what it takes to mix it, nice one Dave and he's
still leading the championship. And with Oli Meggitt suddenly finding
his form to come in a close 3rd. Well done to all today, a really
enjoyable meeting.......and finally a big thanks all the drivers for a
great racing day, it was hot, in fact darn hot. No motor blowup's which
was since sit temps were around 27-29C for most of the afternoon and
the track temps were again in the low 50'sC at the hight of the day. I
suspect there are going to be some sore bodies tomorrow!

Re: STCC Round 6 Snetterton.
Well not one of my better days, tyres didn't help much on my car as after 1/2 runs, poof they went off.
I think my car is very good on carpet but when it comes to tarmac doing 10.5 it seems to lack a good set once the tyres have gone off where as others seem to make their tyres last a lot longer. Saying that though even with new boots on it was not that good, think I need to strip it down and start again with a new set up similar to the cyclone ones.
Gonna have to find a good set for the KO GP as I'm doing 5cell mod, bad car set up in mod will really show up.
It's so annoying knowing that you can drive better than the car will let you. Iv'e had this problem before but sorted it so I will persist as I do like the Scythe and think it wont be long before a good set up is found.
As for Dani I know she finished last but had 2 x 8th places and 10th.
Her first Q run was a no go as she had a dead cell which made the car like a snail. Run 2 and she did a 13 lapper then in Q 3 she did a 15 which I was very happy with as was she. She likes going a lap quicker every race (wouldn't we all lol)
In the finals she drove like a star, when being lapped she move slightly off line to let them through, losing no time for her or them, the way it should be done.
Here are her final results which in Leg 2 saw her do a PB of 16 laps only a lap or 2 behind the winner of the D Final Stuart Laxton. I stood there at the start line for 5 minutes gob smacked, as I coyuldnt belive she was driving the car, what a proud and lucky Dad I am.
Leg 1, 15 315, Leg 2 16 318 and leg 3 15 305.
