New Venue Update.
Hi all, just keeping you informed on the search for a new venue and just so you can see how we are progressing, I will post all corespondance here.
Email sent to Barking and Dagenham Council.
Hello, my name is Mark Young and I am the owner of F.T.Q.
Models of Ilford. We sell remote controlled cars which we currently race at the
club I help run at Goresbrook Leisure centre, Dagenham every Wednesday.
We are in a situation where the Leisure Centre have recently put our hall
hire up to £90.00 for the evening for 4 and a half hours. Due to the price rise
this means we are now looking for a new venue to race our cars which is why I
have contacted yourself.
Before you ask I'm sure the thought of cars whizzing around your hall may
put you off but we always cover the floor with our own carpet and track edgings
and markings so there would be no damage to your floor or surrounding area, but
we would need a storage area of 2m x 2m at the most.
The people that race at our club vary in age from 10 to 60 and are all
very nice people which is why I am trying to find a cheaper location to run our
club from so they can all still enjoy their racing.
If you would consider us hiring one of your halls every Wednesday as a
permanate booking and running our car club there it would be a great help to
myself and our club members. If you would like to know a bit more about what we
do please feel free to contact me on: 02089119216 or 07723053567.
I look forward to hearing from you soon, many thanks in advance.
Yours Sincerely Mark Young, Club Secretary.

Progress.
I have found 4 possible new venues today and will be looking into them asap. They are in the Dagenham, Ilford and Barking areas so not to far for everyone. They are resonably priced and of a good size. Just need to get some more details from owners for storage etc.
I will let you all know asap of any news.

Re: New Venue Update.
I have looked at 2 of the halls, one is near the UEL on Longbridge road which I am waiting to hear about.
The other is a Church hall behind FTQ Models, also waitng to hear news.
I was contacted today by Barking and Dagenham Council who will be ringing me back asap with details of all availble halls.
Please let everyone know the situation we are in and that there is no racing until further notice.
I am trying to sort the problem as you can all see, thanks for your patience.

Re: New Venue Update.
Hi all, It was a no to the Church Hall behind the Shop today due to them being fully booked. This did lead me onto another hall which I went to look at today.
This was also in Ilford near to the town Centre.
It is a lot smaller than we are used to at Goresbrook but as we know thats why Goresbrook costs £100+.
The size of the hall in Ilford is 6m x 18m so it would be 3 rolls of carpet wide by the same length.
I know this is not ideal and I am still looking at other halls but the price of this hall is very cheap at £50 for the night 6-11pm.
It also ticks all the other boxes for storage, tables and chairs and a kitchen for making teas and coffee's.
Hopefully we will find another venue on my list that's just as good but a bit fatter in width asap. If not this could be the way to go as it is affordable and local for most.
What do you all think??? I will put a poll in general chat for you all to comment on, please vote so I know what you want, thanks Mark.

Re: New Venue Update.
Hi all, I went to look at another hall today and it looks very positive. The hall is in Ilford, it is affordable and the size is 16m x 9m (track size).
The only night we could get was a Tuesday night from 7pm until 10.30pm.
We will have to wait for confirmation from them about the 2 options on storage but both seem possible and ok.
We will be needing a van to transport everything from Goresbrook to the new venue very soon so if you have one or now someone you can borrow one from for a few hours please let me know asap, it will prob be on a Wednesday day time but anytime will do if this is not ok with them.
We are looking to get racing again asap but it depends on how quickly the hall owners can give us confirmation and how quickly we can get our hands on a van.
This is very good news as I sure you will agree. More news as we get it.
