1350 Grams Weight Limit!!!

Post by Ali C on Mon Oct 26, 2009 8:56 pm

I voted No For new Weight Limit but I Believe it's gonna be 1350Grams
Now Question 1:Why Do we need it?
Question 2:How can I balance my car Right to Left with no added Weight!

Brca Thinks It's gonna be expensive to buy Weight Leads!!! (£1) to make cars 1450 Grams...
And we don't need any Lighter expensive Electronics !!!
Do They actually Think>?<

Thinking behind proposal
Adding 150-200 Grams of Lead weight is not good and relatively expensive.
No special lightweight parts will be needed to hit this weight limit.
1 NiMH cell weighs 69-72 grams. 6 cell pack weighs 420g (based on 70g)
Lipo Weighs between 150g and 280g
Weights taken from EB list
Therefore a Lipo (heaviest) weighs 140g less than a 6 cell NiMH pack.
Proposed by: Chris Kerswell #9596
Seconded by: Chris Grainger #388

P.S:Does anybody know the weight of not painted Bodyshell?

Sorry Ali, it was me that asked Malc to change it!lol which has lead to the poll!lol

Ali, to balance the car, all you need to do is over hang the lipo over the edge of the chassis, to balance it side to side. (depends what lipo you have, but the demon/IP lipo, it is easy to do) I WOULD NOT BUY A LIPO TRAY!!!
I'll show you tonight how to balance it! I will print an email off that I got sent!

What it does do, reducing the weight, is less tyre ware, as less force pushing on the tyres, and a FASTER car!lol Mainly on the acceleration! The car will act slightly different, but once balanced, it is fine!lol

I would have thought that an email would be sent out to everyone that has booked in on central booking, to inform them of the change!
Its because you have 4 cars to change, why you dont want it changed!lol
Does this mean our championship will be changing also, if RR and EWS change???lol

@GinGe
No Problem Mate
My Car Fully Balanced and 1350 Grams now! but Don't you think this is a bit unfair Desicion Done by BRCA guys?
Not everybody has huge amount of sponsors or Budget and you know the economical climate out there...
I will try my car tonight and see how it feels...
But It's gonna be 1350 @RR Wink
P.S I also hate Lipo Trays+Hangout the Lipo Pack...I've checked last ETS Pics and all those World class drivers Put Their Packs Where it Belongs to !
No Lipo Trays,No Hangouts!

Why is it costing you money???

All your doing is moving things inside the car, and taking bits off!lol

What weight were they running at ETS??? That might be why the Lipos were in the slots!?lol

I think we will have to allow it at our club as there is not much testing time from now until Sunday. I havent got a problem with it and I dont think no one else will as we dont weigh them on club nights anyway.
Going to sort mine out in a bit but I'm sure mt lipo will be outside the bodyshell pmsl.

you are right Spektrum ,KO and many other Manufacturers Give away High Spec Servos,RXs and Speedos Free of charge LOL cheers cheers cheers cheers
But Hey We save money by not buying Weight Leads !!! at least £2-£3 Save lol! lol! lol!

£67-£2=£65 WOW rabbit rabbit rabbit
Anyway My car ready now Wink But I think Thats not a good move for the future of the sport... If you have money You are Faster Wink There are many people buying secondhand ,dated stuff which is bigger and heavier than the Latest spec stuff...
someone should think about those guys ...
This is not the first Bad Move done by BRCA!
No 13.5T @Nationals,Two days Meetings all these stuff makes me think they are trying to get rid off average Joe Wink

WHY~?
All I'm trying to say is :
we will have to put Lighter electronics to balance the car
(Not everbody have the top end rxs and speedos,Low profile servo)
and Lipo Tray to hold the pack @Place
All these costs us FULL Wink
is that clear enough LOL

But why are you getting new stuff? Surely people go out and get the best stuff they can when they buy it???

All you will be doing is taking lead off the car!!! and moving the ESC closer to the centre of the car?!?! Where is the cost in that???

Even when the cars were dropped to 1450g from 1500g, i was still running at 1508g - thats what it was! 2 years ago, i was running at 1585 at one point!!!!lol

out of intrest Ali mark how much lead you guys putting on at the moment

Ali i reckon you would be near spot on if you take off your fan and move your lipo over i dont think you would need smaller electrics.
