Lrp spx comp. Stock spec. ?!?
hi Guys
what do you guys think about this esc ?
everyone thinks there is something magical with it ! But I personally don't trust lrp branded stuff...
I've search the net and we can have one for £135inc postage from States
uk rrp £210 but when it's gone it's gone...
On the other side Tekin RS pro which always has better hardware and very tunable speedo $210 Inc postage
pushing timing a bit makes this speedo crazy
yes SOS LOL
P.s I've fedup beaten by Azman and Mark 2 parralel connected spx speedo may help me

Personally, I think the LRP SPX Stock Spec is a great speedo (but Ginge may say other wise..LOL).. It's just that you need to know what to gear it at.. Usually pretty much higher as the higher power profiles actually advance the timing of the motor..
The tekin is smaller & very adjustable but via a laptop at the momment.. I've seen it run on par with the LRP..

Re: Lrp spx comp. Stock spec. ?!?
Ian Edwards runs the Tekin with him getting some good results with it 3rd I think at the Eastbourne STCC and Tekin have been around longer than LRP and I never had any issuse at all with them.
As for the Blowing up of the the new gen speedos from LRP and Nosram (havent heard of the Nosrams blowing up but they are the same???). Dont think I would buy one.
I would go for a Tekin esc I think and Tekin motor next time around.
But as my warrenty gets me a new speedo when ever they go bang (4 so far) I cant fault the warrenty, touch wood.

Re: Lrp spx comp. Stock spec. ?!?
tekin speedos are rock solid and very tunable via hotwire (which we have to buy seperatly)
and some says you can feel the magic of spx on the traks has a long straight (works like the second gear)
not sure which one to go really
or do I really need one

Nosram blowup - ask Malc Hall..
I didn't know Ed was running Tekin.. Cool.. He was running Team Wave motor & speedo at e nationals..
Tekin just made a comeback (bout 2 years back) as they were on a looooong Sabatical leave & now with new ppl onboard..

I had pre ordered rs pro from towers long time ago and canceled after 2 weeks...
there is no other esc on the market has that much fets on board
lrp ;there you go ,racer like a ginge blowed one up on the very first lap ...
I have tekin fx-r pro used it for a while and never had any trouble tiny-punchy-sexy speedo from US
130 quid posted from HK sounds really cool for rs Pro +hotwire comes around 140-150 pounds not too bad for not sponsored poor driver

Re: Lrp spx comp. Stock spec. ?!?
Oh yeah, Team wave thats what he was using, and that seems rappid! The GM120 seems to be pretty robust - £189.99 from UK. People only seem to use 2 setting on it, either 35 deg or 65 deg of timing! 65deg did get hot and the motor did go bang!(but i could have been over geared! Oops!lol) If you get the LRP or Nosram speedo's be sure you know what to gear them on!!!! or other wise.... BANG!!! Stupid thing!

A bad mechanic always blames his tools lol.
How much lower in general do you have to gear down e.g. 4.9 with a ISTC Matrix what would it be with a the New stockspec speedo and is this how much you would have to gear down for all motors.
If so then why don't they stete it ib the instrutions???

Re: Lrp spx comp. Stock spec. ?!?
Yeaaa mate... actually I don't think that we can gear it that low... because it'll be on the thin red line of the outer envelope of max performance & 'Kaboom'ness...
But its just that the ability of these new speedos to advance the timing 'electronically' that makes it special..
For example: LRP SPX Stock Spec/NOSRAM Stock Spec has to be geared 3-5 pinion smaller than say what we usually gear the LRP TC Spec/NOSRAM ISTC Matrix.. If you don't.. then u'll get a 'Ginge'.. hehehheeee...

Re: Lrp spx comp. Stock spec. ?!?
Yeah and it dont work after that!lol - still not heard anything about it.
Lissy was on 4.8 on the LRP TC spec - me with the GM 120 ended the day on 6.4 and i still would like to drop it down again by a pinion to see what it does? The temp that the motor came off at geared at 6.4 was 71deg, and this was the coolest i got it too, and it seemed quick - would have been nice to have some grip to really test it thought!

New tyres = 1/2 a lap, expensive way to do it but it works.
