Well that's round 1 done and dusted. I think we all did very well and learnt quite a bit about racing on one of the regions bigger tracks. Yesterday was the final round of the Rug Racers 07-08 Championship. Most of the winners for each class were already decided but the 19t class winner was still up for grabs so we were in for an exciting showdown from the top runners. There were a few no shows so numbers were down to about 80 but the competition was still just as good. As I had already won the Stock Recoil Championship I decided to give 27t a bash. Even though I did quite well I think this will be the last time I run 27t ... Mirage 1-2-3 at Rug Racers Round 5 Qualifiers were very competitive and of a good standard with 10 overall heats on another new track layout. The format allowed 4 qualifiers and 2 finals, which is a tight programme for a one day event with such a good turn out. Mirage team qualified well with HB driver Olly Jefferies taking FTD from his 2nd qualifying run, Xray's Elliott Harper was only 5/10ths sec behind. Well what a shock that was to the system getting up at 6.00am after the Xmas break. After getting into Wodson Park when the doors opened at 7.30am there was the usual dash for a pit space.
