ESSEX OPEN ROUND 5.
Well there may not have been as many drivers at the last round yesterday but all the G.M.C.C. drivers did a great job as usual. After all our 4 drivers doing the stock class completed their 5 rounds of qualiy (all in heat 1) Justin was 2nd in the B, Dani was 2nd in the C, with John 3rd and Charlotte 5th (8 car finals).
I did 10.5 and TQ'ed every round but was beaten in the final after letting 2nd placed Stuart Collard through on 1 corner. argh.....
Justin drove a blinder after a first corner smash up and worked his way back up to 2nd overal, a calm and effortless recovery, well done mate.
John managed to come out on top at the end of the C by just a few seconds in front of Dani, with Charlotte bring up the rear (I'm sure she will improve when Justin gets the hang of her car prep and pitting for 2 cars, lol).
Anyway we all had a laugh and a great day even if it was a bit eggy (you had to be there to smell it).
The next Essex open is due to be a lot bigger and better when it moves to the Eversley Sports Centre next winter, which I have heard will be a combined Inter-Club Championship with Rug Racers which should see both series gain even more popularity, if that is possible.
